The Bond- For Regalito

I looked into his eyes and saw his soul.
He looked into my eyes and saw my soul.
He was my horse and I was his person.
We knew each other's thoughts, each other's feelings.
We trusted one another.
We took joy in each other's company.
He was my horse--I was his person!
We shared a bond, a bond of love.

One of my favorite poemz

My Mind Poem

My mind is like a fortress with layers of protection. Behind every wall is a secret that must be hidden. In every stone there's a need to run and be free.

The moat around my fortress is where my thoughts swim. Sometimes dangerous, sometimes shy, sometimes the most random things. Many of my thoughts are like the gators but in the moat. They eat my mind as they get into the fortress. The moat snags some of the thoughts that would hurt me. But it can’t get them all.

Every corner has a passage leading towards who I am. The fortress so big and its so hard to get in. But once your in, your in and you won’t be able to get out. Its a maze to find me though, so the journey is long and hard through the fortress.

My mind is like a fortress trapped behind the walls of itself, one day hoping that the walls will fall down and float away. The fortress doesn't always stay, it's a loose cannon but mostly my mind is a fortress to hide from pain. It's a bad fortress though for blocking the pain, for it blocks all other emotions with the pain.

My mind is a fortress waiting to shine through.

Me Gustas Cuando Callas/I like you When You are quiEt

Pablo Neruda
I Like You When You Are Quiet I like you when you are quiet because it is as though you are absent,
and you hear me from far away, and my voice does not touch you.
It looks as though your eyes had flown away
and it looks as if a kiss had sealed your mouth.
Like all things are full of my soul
You emerge from the things, full of my soul.
Dream butterfly, you look like my soul,
and you look like a melancoly word.
I like you when you are quiet and it is as though you are distant.
It is as though you are complaining, butterfly in lullaby.
And you hear me from far away, and my voice does not reach you:
let me fall quiet with your own silence.
Let me also speak to you with your silence
Clear like a lamp, simple like a ring.
You are like the night, quiet and constellated.
Your silence is of a star, so far away and solitary.
I like you when you are quiet because it is as though you are absent.
Distant and painful as if you had died.
A word then, a smile is enough.
And I am happy, happy that it is not true.

Poem written after reading To Kill a Mockingbird

Innocence Fades With Time

Everyday at school,
We see little dirty snowmen all around,
The teachers wear those professional suits of theirs,
The students have those innocent smiles

Everyday at school,
You can watch as some are dragged down,
Gossip spreads like wildfire,
Everyday at school

We all act nice as we walk the halls,
Hiding anything inappropriate or mean,
Once school is out or we make it to our classes,
The snowman melts,
Showing how much innocence we lose

Everyday at school,
It gets worse for everyone,
Soon there will be only pain in these walls,
Trapped here like we all are,

As time goes by we will grow older,
We will lose the innocence that was once ours,
It’s our own doing,
Gossiping and being mean,
We bring it upon ourselves.

Everyday we lose more innocence,
Everyday we grow older,
Each day we almost leave our nest,
Our mockingbird will leave soon,
For each day it grows harder,
And even harder to not grow-up,
To stay the same sweet innocence,
That slowly is fading away.

Do not stand at my grave and weep by: Mary Elizabeth Frye

Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am in a thousand winds that blow,
I am the softly falling snow.
I am the gentle showers of rain,
I am the fields of ripening grain.
I am in the morning hush,
I am in the graceful rush
Of beautiful birds in circling flight,
I am the starshine of the night.
I am in the flowers that bloom,
I am in a quiet room.
I am in the birds that sing,
I am in each lovely thing.
Do not stand at my grave bereft
I am not there. I have not left. Well I'm randomly using stumbleupon and I stumbled on this poem which I really kinda like :P That's what wikipedia/stumble is for I guess :) The poem was written by Mary Frye, an orphan, and the story behind it is actually rather interesting. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Do_not_stand_at_my_grave_and_weep) if you don't want to read my paraphrase.... It's pretty much that these people that Mary was living with, one of the ladies mom's died and the lady couldn't go to her mothers funeral or even visit her grave. That's what inspired this poem and Mary just wrote it down on a brown paper bag before sending it around. :) I enjoyed this poem.
